Earlier genetic searches
The identification of J-L858/J-Z1884 as Noah was withdrawn on 29 August 2026. Date, population and geography filters did not establish an exhaustive candidate list or posterior odds. The inherited assumptions connecting biblical fathers to named genetic branches were insufficient.
The original reports remain unchanged as dated records. Their conclusions must be read alongside the correction notice. In particular, population detection claims, bare-stem tests and Genesis 10 branching scores do not supply evidence identifying Noah.

Why the lifespan comparisons are exploratory
The ages and the apparent Nahor match were known before the formal analyses. Fixing a calculation in advance of running code does not turn familiar data into a new prediction. Numerical fits and selected model comparisons do not establish intermarriage, numbers of genes or the historical truth of the reading.
Other dated studies
The July ancient-DNA pilot reports a local population comparison, not an identification of Noah. Its empirical outlier threshold could not be reached with its small control panel. Source-model compatibility is therefore a narrower finding than excluding every unknown contribution. Animal and crop audits describe the data available to those studies; they are not live inventories.
