# Status of the earlier genetic and longevity research

Revised 7 September 2026. This notice accompanies the earlier reports without altering their frozen plans, deviation logs, code or original verdicts.

The current account is on [Testing the Timeline](/pages/testing-the-timeline), [the genetics review](/pages/can-genetics-find-noahs-family-line), [the population review](/pages/where-should-adam-sit-in-history) and [the lifespan comparison](/pages/genesis-pedigree-test).

## Interpretations withdrawn

- Identification of J-L858/J-Z1884 as Noah, already withdrawn on 29 August, remains withdrawn. Repeated results under related filters do not restore it or identify a source family.
- Counts such as 84, 549, 29, or 82–535 describe selected searches. They are not a defensible exhaustive candidate space.
- Copying a chromosome at Adam's proposed date does not require a named branch formed at that date. The donor's relatives could remain in our world.
- The ancient-world mutation rate is unspecified. Neither a 2,250-year measured stem nor negligible mutation follows. Ordinary human rates are not validated for repeated fatherhood at 100–135 years.
- SNP-defined children are not identical to sons. One observed named child does not imply extinction of two of Noah's sons. Genesis 10's ancient descendants do not guarantee every patriline persists today.
- The terminal nodes exported in the stored tree are haplogroups, not a count of individual tested men.
- The population scenarios establish no present-day lower bound, secure range or near-certainty of detection. Commercial tester origins are not a representative census of current residents.
- The later detectability calculation placed the full hypothetical population in each country separately rather than allocating a global lineage. Its hidden-share statistic is not a probability that a lineage is unseen.
- The population pass fraction was its own supposed background expectation, not an independent null comparison. There were 31 passing rows among 166 scored rows, representing 29 distinct report files among 157 after consistent deduplication. Nested groups remain dependent.
- The rebuilt fan-out likelihood ratio is not usable for Noah odds. Its observation model did not correspond to the simulated genealogy. The reported J value came from smoothing a zero simulation count; the stated power gate measured a null-side passing fraction, not statistical power.
- Neither these filters nor their normalised scores provide posterior probabilities. Mutation, demography, migration, sampling, a candidate prior and competing historical models remain insufficiently specified.
- Ancient DNA could improve population history without identifying a copied arrival. Earlier claims that a partial or complete ancient L858 stem would automatically decide the hypothesis are withdrawn.

## Longevity claims

The Nahor 205/208 calculation remains arithmetic conditional on an additive excess-lifespan assumption, not an independent prediction or a genetic finding. Its target figures and apparent match were known before the formal plan. Its density ratios compare selected numerical models; they are not historical probabilities.

The broader longevity explanation has no established inheritance or reproduction mechanism. Shem's reduced lifespan cannot be explained by ancestry from ordinary-lived people here because he was born before the crossing to ancient-world parents. Named-son fathering ages are not a population's mean reproductive age. A declining curve cannot exclude literary shaping, and related MT/LXX textual traditions are not independent biological observations. Earlier genetic-factor counts and stronger claims of demographic confirmation should not be used as current findings.

## Reading the archive

The directories `adam-population-model`, `clade-denominator`, `archB-scan`, `receipt-test`, `standing-form-checks`, `family-space`, `bins-sweep` and relevant `mrca-contrast` material preserve the earlier Y-search and population programme. The `genesis-pedigree-test` directory preserves the exploratory lifespan calculations. Original documents may contain interpretations superseded by this notice.

This review does not claim to have newly replicated every ancient-DNA, chronology, language-isolate or archaeological study linked by the site. Their individual methods, source dates and limitations still apply. The correction is not a finding that the two-worlds reading is genetically disproved: the minimal copied-chromosome proposal remains unexcluded, but these studies do not identify it or assign it defensible odds.
